An aesthetic change to the new front end is what Renault has announced in recent hours. Now the “diamond” will be larger and more prominent, in a more upright position, standing out against a glossy black background and framed by a new grille.

But it is not only the historic symbol of Renault that has been redesigned, as changes to the bumpers, air vents and headlights are also introduced, which are now elliptical, extend towards the sides and incorporate new LED daytime running lights. The design of all alloy wheels and wheel trims in the range has also been renewed, and the offer of engines and transmissions has been modified.

As for equipment, the French brand has decided to simplify the offering a little further. The Mégane will have three equipment levels: Life, GT Style and Bose, compared with the five levels that were sold until now. The Life grade features the Tce 1.2 115 CV Energy petrol engine, equipped with a Stop&Start system and ESM energy recovery system, and is exempt from the registration tax.

The dCi 1.5 diesel engine gains 5 CV of power and adds a six-speed manual gearbox. Fuel consumption figures are 4.1 L/100 km, with a theoretical range of 1,400 km. Due to its low emissions, this engine is also not subject to the registration tax. Among other changes, the new TCe 130 CV EDC version now features a dual-clutch automatic gearbox “Efficient Dual Clutch”.
