The Renovatio T500: Slovenia's supercar

Slovenian firm Tushek is set to unveil its latest sports car creation, the Renovatio T500, at the Privé show in Great Britain.

Amid the rise of unbridled capitalism, countries like Slovenia are already daring to bring to life this class of sports cars that cost a fortune as much as they accelerate and run. This time we are talking about the Renovatio T500, a vehicle that has everything it takes to enter the exclusive circle of high-priced cars.

But is it worth it? The Renovatio is built by a local firm called Tushek, new to the scene and with no track record whatsoever in sports cars. Although the car seems to have an electric powertrain (I don’t know why, but seeing it gives the impression of being electric), that is nothing more than an impression; the Renovatio uses a 4.2-litre V8 engine from Audi.

Although the engine may already be a few years old, it gives the T500 almost 450 hp and a top speed of nearly 320 km/h. The styling is fairly “normal” yet well executed to create a spectacular look, with the addition of a giant rear spoiler that will undoubtedly attract a lot of attention.

That said, boasting about how fast a car can go is one thing, but the quality of the components, such as the brakes and the safety it offers at high speeds, is quite another. Tushek has not given a single hint about the details of its construction; it has only announced that it chose the United Kingdom for its presentation: this year’s Privé show.

At a price of €300,000, it might have been better for this sports car to try its luck in Arab countries, because for that price you can find something better known and more prestigious. But it remains to be seen whether the T500 will achieve the reputation of other brands over the years. Who knows, perhaps in the future we will be talking about it the way we would about any Ferrari or Lamborghini.
