The restyled Skoda Octavia arrives for 2024, and this is what it has to offer

We have been waiting for this moment for several months, ever since news began to leak that the Skoda model was going to receive a restyling to successfully meet the challenges posed by the year 2024. This model has managed to add up 7.15 million units over its commercial life, so this redesign aims to maintain this trend until the arrival of the next generation.

The model is available in two variants, the saloon and the estate, called Combi. The main aesthetic changes focus on the grille, which has been redesigned. It now has a lighter look, thanks to vertical slats that enhance its overall appearance.

The grille is accompanied by second-generation Matrix LED headlights, which give the front a sharper look. These headlights offer 36 light segments, instead of the 24 found in the previous generation. At the rear, the bumper design has also changed and brings aesthetic differences compared with the current model. Many of these changes are based on those used on the Superb, but on the Octavia they give a more sporty and dynamic appearance.

Moving to the interior of the new Skoda Octavia, sustainable materials have been used. The infotainment system screen is 10 inches, although a 13-inch size can be optionally specified. The two-zone climate control comes as standard across all trim levels. It also features a USB-C port and an improved Kessy keyless locking system.

The model’s personalisation comes through four trim levels, Essence, Selection, Sportline and RS, as well as nine Design Selection interior finishes. If preferred, you can also opt for ergonomic seats with AGR certification, which feature a massage function.

To improve safety, this new Octavia configuration will feature new ADAS. The parking assist system will help carry out manoeuvres precisely, and a driver fatigue detection function has also been added. ChatGPT has been included to enhance the voice assistance system, all designed to offer a more relaxed and safer driving experience.

Skoda Octavia engines

The range consists of five engine options. The first and most basic uses a 1.5-litre TSI engine producing 115 CV. This engine is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed DSG automatic. This variant is followed by a 150 CV petrol engine, which features 48-volt mild hybridisation with a DSG automatic gearbox.

Above this, there is a 2.0-litre engine with different outputs. The first offers 204 CV, while the RS version produces 265 CV and comes with a DSG automatic gearbox.

The 2.0-litre diesel engines offer 115 and 150 CV, the former paired with a manual gearbox and the latter with an automatic gearbox.
