The Scion iQ: one more in the family, and electric if possible

The Scion iQ has not yet gone on sale in North America, but it will shortly, with a 1.3-litre engine producing 99 CV. That is all very well, but Scion hopes to also offer an electric version, which will technically be practically identical to the electric Toyota iQ that is also in development.

Few other details have been given about this electric Scion, except for one isolated figure that mentions the range of its battery pack, claimed at around 104 kilometres.

I don’t know why Scion’s cannibalised models in the US look better than the original Toyota models. I was just remembering how good the Scion FR-S looks, and now I see that the Scion iQ is in fact far more attractive than the original iQ, without all the brain-bending fuss. A lower ride height and wheels of a different design are enough to turn heads.
