The SEAT Mii Electric is already a reality, with 83 CV and a range of 260 kilometres
SEAT has already taken the step into the electric sector with the Mii Electric, a model that will arrive at the end of the year with 83 CV and a range of 260 km.

What was announced yesterday as SEAT’s first step towards electric vehicles has today become a reality with the Mii Electric. The Spanish city car has embraced the technology most committed to the environment, which allows it to be considered a pioneer of this drivetrain within the brand. In this way, SEAT has achieved what it had long been anticipating: entering fully into a segment that is increasingly sought out not only by residents of large cities, but also by anyone who wants to turn away from traditional combustion vehicles.
But the Mii Electric will not be the only model driving the brand’s electrification, as SEAT plans to complete the line-up with other models. Among them, we will find hybrid versions of both the León and the Tarraco, alongside the long-awaited el-Born, but there is also room for the more performance-oriented offspring from CUPRA, a brand that will soon welcome the Formentor and the León in their hybrid versions.
But let us not get ahead of ourselves, since the present is reigned over by the newly presented Mii Electric, a model that aims to mark a before and after both in the history of the brand and in that of the automobile. However, despite the great legacy this first electric model will leave behind, very few aesthetic changes can be seen on the Mii Electric compared with its combustion-engined counterpart.

To make it stand out, SEAT has included in its electric offspring a series of exclusive badges that do not bring drastic changes. It is at the rear where we notice the absence of an exhaust outlet, along with the “Electric” designation dominating that area. At the same time, we can also see decals on the sides and 16-inch wheels specific to this variant of the Spanish city car. The interior also receives subtle changes, with a new trim and sport seats and steering wheel.
But it is in the mechanical section where we can truly see the differences compared with a standard SEAT Mii. Under the skin of the brand’s electric car we find a powertrain capable of producing 83 CV of power and 212 Nm of torque, figures that are complemented by a total range of 260 kilometres on the WLTP cycle and a top speed of 130 km/h.

In this way SEAT has finally entered fully into this sought-after market, but it will not be until September 2019 that pre-orders for the Mii Electric begin. It will be manufactured entirely in Bratislava and it will be at the end of the year when it makes its major market debut, with the aim of offering itself as an attractive alternative to the main electric city cars.
