Octavia Skoda Sedans Coches GLP/GNC ECO
The Skoda Octavia G-TEC, the variant that combines CNG with petrol, is already priced
Skoda continues to bet on CNG, a second fuel that makes its appearance with the new Skoda Octavia G-TEC, a variant that already has a price.
Skoda has for many years offered some very interesting products, above all through its Octavia, a model that in its latest generation continues to stand out for offering a value for money that is hard to beat. However, the Czech brand has wanted to go even further by offering a generous range of engines for its saloon in order to satisfy a wide variety of customer profiles. The latest to arrive has been the Skoda Octavia G-TEC, a version that uses CNG as a second fuel and promises extended range and a refuelling cost that is negligible.
The Volkswagen Group has been working with Compressed Natural Gas -CNG- for some time, a type of fuel that is increasingly present in Spain and that is presented not only as an alternative to a hybrid car, but also to LPG. Audi, SEAT and Volkswagen have already offered several models powered by this type of fuel, and now it is -once again- the turn of the Skoda Octavia G-TEC.
Until now, the Octavia was offered in petrol, diesel, mild-hybrid and PHEV versions, which makes it one of the most complete models on the market in terms of engines. But now the Czech brand has wanted to expand the range with this G-TEC variant, which positions itself as a midpoint between a purely combustion Octavia and a hybrid.

Behind this name lies a 1.5-litre TSI turbocharged four-cylinder engine capable of producing 131 CV of power. For the moment, this G-TEC version is only available with a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox, although a six-speed manual is expected to be offered later on as well.
The three tanks of 17.33 kg are placed on the floor of the boot, which reduces its capacity compared with the fully combustion variants. The Skoda Octavia G-TEC has a declared capacity of 445 litres in the saloon version and 495 in the estate, compared with the 600 and 640 declared by the petrol and diesel variants.

Nevertheless, its advantages lie in a range of 700 kilometres and a CNG consumption between 3.4 and 3.6 kg per 100 km according to the WLTP cycle. With all this, the new Skoda Octavia G-TEC is now available in Spain with a starting price of 29,390 euros, a figure that rises to 30,090 euros if we opt for the Combi bodywork.
