The Subaru Outback has a long history behind it: it is one of the first 4×4 crossovers to reach the market, arriving in 1995, and over just over 20 years on sale it has evolved into the current fifth generation. Now the Japanese brand wants the Outback to become a benchmark among crossovers, and to that end it announces the arrival of the Executive Plus S version.

The Subaru Outback Executive Plus S will become the flagship of this model, with superior equipment and distinguishing features that set it apart from the rest of the range. To begin with, the front end is where the most visible difference lies, with a new bumper in which black predominates over chrome, aiming for a sportier character while also reinforcing its rugged look thanks to its new lines.

Continuing with the exterior, the new front lighting unit maintains the line of reinforcing that sporty character, while the mirrors have been redesigned to improve aerodynamics, also integrating a new LED indicator that lights up more uniformly. Finally, the wheels now grow up to 18 inches and feature a new two-tone finish design.

Inside, the Outback Executive Plus S is a model characterised by its generous interior space, both for occupants and for storing items in its boot, which offers a capacity of 559 litres. Its upholstery is leather, available in black or beige, while the contrast stitching now appears on the armrest, door panels and instrument panel. The climate control air vents are now in piano black, while other details such as the climate controls and certain indicators have been redesigned.

In terms of equipment, it comes quite well loaded as standard. To start, a new 8-inch WVGA touchscreen has been fitted, with Subaru Starlink and Aha functions, which also adds the Harman Kardon Green Edge sound system with 12 speakers. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as DAB+ digital radio, are also standard, along with Bluetooth, AUX input and USB connectors, two of which are new and located in the rear seats.

The standard technology equipment continues with other features such as heated electric front seats with memory, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and start, sunroof, automatic tailgate and tinted glass. In terms of safety, it comes with an exceptional standard specification consisting of Symmetrical All Wheel Drive, Subaru EyeSight, SRH adaptive headlights with Steering Responsive Headlights, Front and Side View Monitor, Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection and rear-view camera.

Mechanically, the Subaru Outback Executive Plus S is paired exclusively with the 2,500 cc petrol boxer engine, delivering a power output of 175 CV and a torque of 235 Nm. This engine has a combined consumption rating of 7.3 litres per 100 kilometres, while combined CO2 emissions are set at 166 g/km.

The Subaru Outback Executive Plus S is now available across the brand’s Spanish dealer network, with a starting price of €37,750, including a €1,000 sales campaign that is not tied to vehicle financing.
