The Italian firm Ares Design presents its idea of a Tesla Model S Shooting Brake. This new body gives the saloon a more elegant look.

A vehicle segment that has captured the imagination of car enthusiasts is, without a doubt, the shooting brake. These cars offer a perfect balance between a four-door coupé and a traditional estate, a mix that gives the whole a great deal of elegance and sportiness. This combination becomes even more appealing if it is a model with a hard-hitting tuning, something that happens with the Tesla Model S.

It is true that there is no estate version of the electric saloon, but that does not mean other companies cannot create one. This is what has crossed the minds of the engineers at Ares Design, a firm specialised in creating unique vehicles based on existing models. Recently we saw their recreation of the Ferrari 412 based on a GTC4Lusso, but this time they have turned to the Tesla as their test subject.

The Italian company has decided to give the Model S a completely different concept, one that is characterised by a more practical and elegant philosophy. For now it is a project that has not yet made the leap into reality, but given the creations Ares Design has already produced, it is no surprise that this Tesla Shooting Brake could see the light of day before long.

The first thing that catches the eye of this prototype is how refinement spreads throughout the whole car, offering a cleaner design than the conventional Tesla. This is achieved thanks to the lowered rear hatch, which removes some volume from the electric saloon, preventing its look from being so rugged. Another element the firm has decided to modify is the wheels, which adopt an exclusive design and help provide a smoother yet sporty image.

As for the mechanicals, we do not know whether Ares Design plans to make changes to the batteries that power the Tesla Model S, since as standard it is capable of performance typical of the greatest combustion supercars. Let us remember that the saloon can reach 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds in its most powerful version, figures that place it in the territory of the Lamborghini Aventador.

As we have mentioned, for now there is no physical unit of this Model S Shooting Brake, but a considerable number of structural modifications will be needed to achieve the desired result. Either way, we hope Ares Design brings it to reality, since the Tesla acquires a level of beauty superior to that of many competing vehicles.
