The Toyota Land Cruiser 200 gets a restyling

Toyota has announced the renewal of one of its flagship models, the Land Cruiser 200, thanks to a restyling.
It is an update that affects both the styling and the mechanics, improving both areas to compete with confidence in the luxury off-road segment.
The Land Cruiser 200 is an institution in the world of off-roaders. On many occasions this model has been referred to as the “Range Rover of Japan”, thanks to its blend of luxury and off-road capability. The design of the new Land Cruiser 200 is now more striking with the incorporation of a more harmonious front end, in which the lighting units, with LED technology, stand out and now merge with the larger central grille.

Other minor details that have also been updated include, for example, the mirrors, the door handles, the design of the alloy wheels, the interior design of the rear lights, and the placement of some chrome elements, which now stand out more than ever.
In the interior, although the basic lines of the dashboard do not vary much from the previous model, the incorporation of a new multimedia system controlled by a large 9-inch touchscreen located in the center of the dashboard stands out. It also debuts new instrumentation and a steering wheel with a new design. All the controls and switches with which the driver can modify the various dynamic settings of the vehicle to adapt it to the terrain at each moment are retained.

The Land Cruiser 200 retains off-road qualities on par with the best, thanks to systems such as Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, and air suspension. The new active safety package called Toyota Safety Sense is also incorporated.
Mechanically, the new Land Cruiser keeps the 4.5 V8 D4-D diesel engine, but receives a series of technical modifications such as new injectors and a reprogramming of its control unit to make it more powerful and efficient, something necessary when it comes to moving with ease a behemoth that far exceeds 2 tonnes in weight.
