The Toyota Proace City family arrives in Spain and begins its commercialization

Toyota is a brand that openly commits to the segment encompassing its so-called commercial vehicles, with a very varied range that includes the Yaris Ecovan, the LandCruiser, its acclaimed Hilux pick-up and the Proace. This last model will be the latest protagonist, as the family expands with the Proace City version, whether for family use, work, or both.

The different variants of the Toyota Proace City will have the honor of becoming the first model of Toyota manufactured in Spain, as it will be built at the factory that the PSA Group has in Vigo. The Proace City family will also be highly versatile, since among all its versions there will be available up to 21 different combinations of body, engine, gearbox and trim, thus adapting to the tastes and preferences of anyone.

Toyota Proace City Verso Family

The new Toyota Proace City Verso Family will be the version, as you can deduce from its name, that is most oriented towards family and leisure use, also offered in two body lengths of 4,400 mm and 4,750 mm, which can be chosen with 5 or 7 seats inside. The major aesthetic difference compared to the work-oriented variant is that it is always offered with four doors and a rear tailgate.

The Toyota Proace City Verso Family will be available in two trim levels called Active and Advance. In the first one, the Active trim, we will find as standard items such as:

• Parking sensors
• Child mirror.
• Leather-upholstered steering wheel
• 16-inch alloy wheels
• Mobile integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Toyota Safety Sense,
• Suite of safety and driver assistance systems Toyota

The Advance trim expands the equipment, as in addition to the items described above, it adds elements such as:

• LED headlights
• Keyless entry and start (Smart Entry)
• wireless smartphone charger
• Head-Up display
• Panoramic roof
• Navigation system
• 17-inch alloy wheels.

Mechanically it will be available with a 1,200 cc petrol engine offered in 110 CV output paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, or in 130 CV output, in this case accompanied by an 8-speed automatic gearbox. For diesel there will be a single option: a 1,500 cc engine producing 130 CV, although you may choose either of the two gearboxes mentioned above.

The Toyota Proace City Verso Family is already available to order at the brand’s Spanish dealerships, with a starting price set at 22,500 euros.

Toyota Proace City Combi

The Toyota Proace Combi is similar to the Proace City Verso Family, with the same seating configuration and body lengths, the difference being that it is a mixed vehicle that allows the transport of both passengers and goods, as the second row of seats can be folded flush with the floor. In addition, it has two side doors and a rear tailgate, or one side door and a double glazed rear door depending on the chosen trim.

It will also have two available trims, the first called GX, which includes standard items such as:

• Double glazed rear door
• 8 airbags
• Hill Start Assist (HAC)
• Hill Descent Control (DAC)
• Air conditioning
• Toyota Safety Sense

The second trim is called VX and as standard includes items such as:

• Second side door giving access to the cabin
• Fog lights
• Bumpers in body colour
• Toyota Touch 2 with 8-inch screen
• Mobile connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Parking sensors
• Rear tailgate with fixed rear window
• Third row of seats (optional).

Mechanically the Toyota Proace City Combi can only be paired with the 1,500 cc diesel engine, which can be chosen in 100 CV and 130 CV outputs, the latter with the option of a manual or automatic gearbox. Prices in Spain start at 14,773 euros.

Toyota Proace City Van

This is the version with the most professional character, being a panel van with a cargo partition and the option of two or three seats in the front area; it is also available in a short body of 4,400 mm and a long body of 4,750 mm. Another useful feature for professionals is that, depending on the body, it can carry up to 650 or 1,000 kg.

In terms of trims, the Toyota Proace City Van will also be available in the two GX and VX trims. With the GX trim we will find, as standard, items such as:

• Hill Start Assist (HAC)
• Hill Descent Control (DAC)
• Plastic cargo area protector
• Air conditioning
• Individual passenger seat

In the VX trim the equipment is more complete and adds elements such as:

• Cruise control with speed limiter
• Fog lights
• Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system with 8-inch screen
• Mobile connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• Parking sensors
• Full wood cladding of the cargo area
• Double passenger seat

Mechanically the Toyota Proace City Van will also be available only with the 1,500 cc diesel engine, in outputs of 75 CV and 100 CV paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and, finally, in 130 CV output with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Prices in Spain start at 13,022 euros.
