The Toyota Yaris adapts to the latest technology by adding Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Toyota has embraced the latest technological advances, as it shows us through the Yaris, a model that now offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Technology has become a vitally important area in today’s automotive landscape, and if brands’ latest products have not yet climbed aboard this huge wave of progress and continue to bet on a more frugal package, they have little to offer against the competition. However, firms such as Toyota have wanted to spice up their hybrid powertrains even further by adding other components to their entry-level vehicles, such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. These systems have just made their debut in the Yaris, a vehicle that stands as one of the pioneers of hybridisation in its segment and which has just become a little more modern.
The first to embrace this new technology was the Yaris’s little brother and the entry point to the Toyota range, the Aygo. However, the mid-sized city car, jealous of the Japanese brand’s smallest offspring, wanted to receive the same treatment, and the company, without hesitation, met the demands of one of its best-selling models to date.
Thanks to this subtle but important update within the Yaris family, its potential customers will be able to enjoy technology that was already missed in the Japanese car. Through a 7-inch touchscreen, users of the Toyota city car will be able to connect their smartphone and enjoy one of the two systems, which will provide us with important benefits and allow us to be much more in tune with our vehicle.

Apps such as Spotify or our own mobile browser can be projected onto the multimedia system of the updated Toyota Yaris. At the same time, we will be able to use more specific apps that will provide us with data about the vehicle itself, but one of the most important aspects is that we will be able to make and receive calls without having to handle our mobile phone, since this task will be managed through the screen itself.
We will also be able to use WhatsApp safely, since this direct connection with the Toyota Yaris will let us play back the messages we receive and send whatever we want using voice commands. The same goes for text messages, another means of communication that can cause significant distractions at the wheel.

In this way, Toyota is jumping on the bandwagon of smart communication and technological innovation, two aspects that were already present in the mechanical side of its offspring but are now further consolidated in the cabin. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now available across the whole Yaris range, which can be bought at any official dealership of the brand from 9,800 euros.
