The Toyota Yaris celebrates its 20th anniversary with a special, limited edition

Staying at the top for 20 years in the competitive city car market is within reach of very few, which is why Toyota wants to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its small Yaris in style. It was introduced to the world in 1998 at its debut at the Paris Motor Show. To mark the occasion, they are presenting a limited and very special edition, of which only a few units will arrive in Spain.

It will be the year of its Paris debut that Toyota takes as the reference for the number of units it will build of the Yaris 20th Anniversary Limited Edition, 1,998 units, of which only 200 will arrive in Spain from the company’s factory in the French city of Valenciennes. As you can imagine, this special edition will stand out with a distinctive look, along with more extensive standard equipment.

On the outside, the Toyota Yaris 20th Anniversary Limited Edition comes with a two-tone paint bodywork, with gold as the main colour combined with dark grey for the roof and pillars. Added to this is a new exclusively designed front grille, 16-inch alloy wheels also in grey, grey graphite side mouldings, black mirror housings, chrome frames for the fog lights, shark-fin antenna and darkened rear glass. The finishing touch is the “Y20” badge on the C-pillars, identifying the edition.

Moving inside, Toyota has also made changes to the colour schemes so they match the exterior. As a result, dark grey features on the centre console, the steering wheel trim and the upholstery, which combines dark grey with light grey. Chrome also appears on the air vent frames, speakers, gauges and the inserts on the gear lever, while the floor mats are black with silver edging. The “Y20” logo is embroidered on the front seat backrests and appears on the instrument panel, and the steering wheel features a plate with the number of each of the 200 units arriving in Spain.

As for the standard equipment on the Toyota Yaris 20th Anniversary Limited Edition, as you can imagine, it will be very tempting, including items such as a panoramic Skyview roof, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear-view camera, push-button start, cruise control, the Toyota Touch 2 infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, and the Toyota Safety Sense package of safety and driver-assistance systems, among others. In addition, future owners of this special edition will receive a gift called the “Welcome Box”, consisting of a personalised key and a commemorative plate with the number of each unit.

Under the bonnet we find the hybrid engine of Toyota, producing 100 CV, which achieves a combined consumption of 3.9 l/100 km. It also carries the DGT ECO label, so owners will benefit from various economic advantages and avoid traffic restriction episodes in large cities such as Madrid.

The Toyota Yaris 20th Anniversary Limited Edition will be available at a final price without financing of 18,600 euros, although if financed through the brand itself, its final price drops to 17,700 euros.
