The ultra-fast charging network of Renault is called Mobilize Fast Charge and will arrive soon in Spain

Renault is going to launch a new network of ultra-fast chargers that will allow a charging capacity of up to 320 kW and that will begin to be deployed in Spain.

The most pressing problems of electric mobility come down to the charging capacity of electric car batteries. That is why brands are rushing to develop new ultra-fast charging points to eliminate this problem and make charging a much simpler task.

The charging network developed by Renault is called Mobilize Fast Charge and is already operating in France, with considerable success. But Renault is a brand that sells well across all of Europe, and if the brand Dacia is added to the equation, it is consolidated as one of the most popular in European markets. So this ultra-fast charging network will be rolled out across several European countries, including Spain.

In principle, Spain and Belgium will be the first countries outside France to have access to this technology promoted by Renault. In the brand’s home country, there are already 25 stations of this type, although it is expected that the figure of 650 ultra-fast charging stations across Europe will be reached by 2028, so the expansion will be quite rapid.

Ultra-fast charging to keep the journey moving quickly

The charging stations of Renault will have a charging power of up to 320 kW, which will allow hundreds of kilometres of range to be recovered in a short time. Obviously, the charging speed will depend on each vehicle’s capacity, but if it has this capability, it will be able to charge the battery in a very short time.

In addition, the chargers will use a Plug & Charge system, which does not require installing any app or any type of payment method. Simply, users can connect the charger and start enjoying the installation’s charging power. Furthermore, the stations are expected to have an availability of just over 99%, to ensure that all users can access them at any time.

These charging stations will not only have charging points, but will also offer rest areas, with free Wi-Fi, a café area and services, so that drivers can rest while the battery charges. The idea is for each charging station to become a reference point for travellers to take a break.

This new network of charging stations will offer an interesting challenge to the networks of Tesla and Ionity, which are the most powerful in the European market. To gain a foothold, they will launch an incentive campaign so that users can use this network and get rid of the range anxiety that comes with driving an electric car, in an infrastructure that is still scarce in our country.
