The upcoming Tesla Roadster and the Tesla X, announced by Elon Musk

Elon Musk revealed that the crossover derived from the Tesla S will be called X and that the new-generation Roadster will hit the road in 2014.

Although Elon Musk has already repeated more than once the ideas that Tesla Motors has for future models, at least now we will know that the already famous Tesla Roadster will have a successor and that the Tesla S will give life to the Tesla X.

Elon Musk has commented that within two years we will have on the market the successor to the current Tesla Roadster, although the next electric convertible will not be based on an Lotus Elise, as until now, but most likely it will be based on an adapted version of the Tesla S.

And speaking of the Tesla S, we already had clear the idea that it would give rise to more models from the same platform. In addition to the new version of the Roadster, one of them will be a crossover called X, which will hit the road next year.

But before all this happens, the Tesla S must start to take off its sales to be sure that it can present new models within the announced timeframes, which has not yet happened.
