The Volkswagen Multivan Bulli 70th Anniversary celebrates the launch of a legendary vehicle
70 years ago the first Volkswagen Transporter appeared, which in the 1950s became known as the “Bulli”, and this special edition pays tribute to it

70 years ago, Volkswagen launched a commercial vehicle that introduced several innovations to the market. This is the Volkswagen Transporter, although it soon received another name from the buyers who began using it: the “Bulli“. No, this has nothing to do with the popular restaurant of Ferran Adrià, but rather the name this van proudly carried for a long time, which now gets a special edition of the vehicle that has replaced it and that is currently the benchmark within the brand.
The Volkswagen Multivan Bulli 70 Anniversary aims to commemorate that legendary van, but bringing all that spirit into 2017. To do so, it uses a body colour scheme that recalls the original model and that seeks to offer, as interior equipment and features, everything the model currently offers. But be careful, because if you are interested in getting one of these units, remember that there are only 70 units available.

Although there have been six generations of this model and around 12 million units have been sold, this popular vehicle is considered one of the most important commercial models. And not only that, but it is a van closely associated with leisure time and a lifestyle freer and closer to open spaces.
This special edition aims to recover the essence of the first version of the Transporter. As it could not be otherwise, this model is based on the Premium version of the model, although it includes elements that can only be found in this special edition. For example, the bodywork is designed in two colours, Turmeric Yellow and white. At the rear is the well-known logo of the original “Bulli”, and it includes mirror caps, mouldings and other chrome elements. The cabin windows are tinted and the sill trims bear the word “Bulli”, certifying their membership of this special edition.
The look is reinforced by Davenport 17-inch alloy wheels as standard, although 18-inch Disc alloy wheels with white rims can optionally be fitted. The interior is completely different, because the intention to recover the look of the “Bulli” is not at odds with the most current and modern equipment.
The multifunction steering wheel in leather, the touchscreen and an instrument panel framed by a Glossy Black trim. The floor with rails features a nautical-style wood finish and includes ParkPilot as standard at the front and rear, LED headlights with Light Assist and various connectivity options with the Composition Media infotainment system and App-Connect. The engine powering it is a 2.0 TDI 204 CV unit, with DSG gearbox, and the price at which this special edition is offered is 51,600 EUR, always financed through Volkswagen Financial Services.
