S90 Volvo Concepts Beijing Motor Show
The Volvo S90 Ambience Concept debuts in Beijing as a unique experience for its occupants
Volvo has brought the S90 Ambience Concept to the Beijing Auto Show, a future model aimed at its demanding Chinese customers, in which to unwind inside

The flagship of Volvo, the S90, is the reference model in China for the Swedish brand, and no wonder, since last year Volvo managed to sell more than 100,000 units in China for the first time. With these sales in China alone, the Volvo S90 has contributed significantly to sales volume, once again reaching a record after four consecutive years of uninterrupted growth.
That is why, as you can imagine, the S90 is a very special model for Volvo in the Chinese market, and they have decided to repay that trust by presenting the new Volvo S90 Ambience Concept at the Beijing Auto Show. For now this model is simply a concept, and I say “for now” because at Volvo they firmly intend to take it into production.

The Volvo S90 Ambience Concept is based on the long-wheelbase version of the S90 called Excellence, a reference model for all those customers who have a chauffeur and enjoy being driven in a different way. Externally it has no differences from the standard version, but we will find them inside, where occupants will be able to experience numerous sensations that put all their senses to the test, thus redefining the concept of luxury.
The main feature of the Volvo S90 Ambience Concept is that occupants can personalise the interior ambience, and can even do so from their own smartphones, choosing any of the seven visual themes projected onto the roof, which are also synchronised with the audio and scent. Volvo has named these themes Northern Lights, Scandinavian Forest, Swan Lake, Archipelago, Rain, Freedom, and there will even be a theme called Nocturnal, designed to create an optimal atmosphere for rest.

It also features the most complete technology equipment, so its occupants can enjoy a unique sound experience thanks to the sound system signed by Bowers & Wilkins, which delivers surround sound through the small tweeters installed in the headrests. In addition, together with the themes and the sound system, the four scents custom-created by Byredo will also be combined, released through the central console.
But these will not be the only novelties of the Volvo S90 Ambience Concept, since, being the Excellence version, the rear centre seat is replaced by the Lounge console, which, besides serving as an armrest, also incorporates a fridge for chilling drinks. There is also no front passenger seat; in its place sits the sophisticated mount for the infotainment system, a large tablet-style screen, which doubles as a footrest.
