The Volvo XC60 is updated with the modifications by Polestar
The high-performance brand of Volvo has worked on the engine and gearbox of the Volvo XC60 so that this model offers better on-road performance

The Volvo XC60 has been the latest model to go through the workshop of Polestar, the high-performance brand of Volvo that takes the brand’s cars to levels their production versions cannot reach. In this case, they have worked on the engine to reach 421 CV, which puts it on par with the XC90 T8, making these two the most powerful cars Volvo has ever built.
The modifications carried out by Polestar maintain all of Volvo’s warranties, including consumption of 2.1 litres per 100 kilometres and the 45-kilometre fully electric range of the T8. Among the changes made by Polestar, in collaboration with its partner in the motorsport world Cyan Racing, they have boosted not only engine performance but also throttle response and gear-shift speed.

On the engine side, the improvements have focused above all on improving performance in the mid-range, which is the range most used in everyday normal driving. That is, in moments such as merging onto a motorway, overtaking or pulling away from a junction, where the engine is under the most demand.
To improve the gearbox, work has been done to reduce shift time and also to make use of the gear in those mid-range moments. In addition, control through tight bends is maintained thanks to gearbox optimisation to withstand the G-forces experienced in this kind of situation.
In total, five versions of the Volvo XC60 will receive the changes offered by Polestar. These variants are the T8, T6, T5, D5 and D4, which will be launched gradually across the different markets. What do you think of this optimisation of the Volvo XC60’s characteristics?
