The Zagato Fiat 500 returns with the 504 Coupé Zagato Scagliarini Elaborata

On our visit to the Geneva motor show earlier this year, we discussed the Fiat 500 coupé by Zagato, an attractive design exercise from the Italian coachbuilder, equipped with a high-performance version of the TwinAir twin-cylinder.
This time, though, it is Scagliarini Motorsports that brings us a new take on the Zagato, with the very Italian 504 Coupé Zagato Scagliarini Elaborata, a one-off model built to order.
This 500 was ordered by a customer from none other than the United Arab Emirates, which goes to show that Arab buyers do not only purchase cars in a certain price range or from certain luxury and sports brands.
The striking difference between that Zagato and this Scagliarini 500 is that this one-off model fits the 1.4 MultiAir Turbo engine, and that part of the rear side window and the rear glass have been “blinded”, so they now appear to be part of the bodywork. And the icing on the cake is that it will have four-wheel drive.
This unusual commission will be delivered to its new owner at the end of this year.
