The Zeekr 007 GT is the family model that could soon arrive in Europe

Family vehicles seem to have fallen into oblivion, but there is still room in the market for them. Several brands still think about them, beyond the SUV body style. In China they are more popular than in Europe, and the brand Zeekr wants to strengthen its line-up with a model of this kind and is about to launch a family model based on the Zeekr 007 saloon.

This new model has been named Zeekr 007 GT and shares many features with the saloon. At the front, a LED light bar stands out, incorporating the daytime running lights and the main headlights. It also has a very interesting feature, as it can be configured to display text messages.

The front bumper has been revised, with air intakes that can be opened or closed depending on needs. On the side there are protective cladding panels and a new design for the C-pillars. The roofline gives a much sportier look than one might expect from this type of model, and at the rear there is a small spoiler that aids aerodynamics. The rear lights are a simple and efficient light bar that nearly meet in the centre of the tail.

As for the battery fitted to the Zeekr 007 GT, it is the same as the one offered in the 007. It is Geely’s Golden battery. It allows charging at up to 500 kW, which lets it recover up to 500 kilometres in just 13 minutes. The 800-volt architecture underpinning the model makes this possible, although few chargers offer this power worldwide.

It is built on Geely’s SEA platform, so it is a vehicle with already proven capabilities. It offers rear-wheel and all-wheel drive, with outputs between 416 and 637 CV. The battery will offer a range of up to 870 kilometres, though under the CLTC cycle. The price of this model is not yet known, but it is expected to reach Europe at some point, so we will wait for more details.
