These are the new Guardia Civil vehicles you will see on the roads
The Guardia Civil’s vehicle fleet has been reinforced with new units, including Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV and Toyota Land Cruiser, which are now entering service

The Guardia Civil is continuously renewing its vehicle fleet. New units join those already available on Spanish roads, specially assigned to the Traffic Group. Over these days, 216 new vehicles are being incorporated and will begin service, representing an investment of nine million euros.
Among these units, most of them are plug-in hybrid vehicles. Specifically, 165 units of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV. These vehicles offer the performance required by the security force and also make it possible to efficiently and genuinely reduce emissions of polluting gases, something that is increasingly taken into account for official vehicles too.

Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV
The model chosen to expand the Guardia Civil’s fleet is a plug-in hybrid vehicle offering a total power output of 188 CV. The model’s approved average consumption is 2 litres per 100 kilometres, and its range in fully electric mode is 45 kilometres. This qualifies it for the DGT’s environmental label 0.
The market price of this model is set between 38,400 and 44,300 euros, depending on the trim level. The cost of the conversion needed to approve the vehicle for service in the corps is not known.
Toyota Land Cruiser
The remaining units added to the Guardia Civil’s fleet are 56 units of the Toyota Land Cruiser. It has a diesel engine delivering 204 CV. Of these, 30 are assigned to the Nature Protection Service, while the remaining 26 will be used to combat drug trafficking in the Campo de Gibraltar.
With these new acquisitions, the Guardia Civil fleet is being strengthened to achieve a modern and efficient vehicle fleet. The General State Budget for next year is expected to include the purchase of 1,800 new vehicles for the Guardia Civil, which will mean a considerable renewal of the fleet.
