This is how the Tesla Model S that carries the dead is

The BINZ.E is a hearse based on the Tesla Model S, created by a German car manufacturer specialising in this market niche.

Hearses tend to be dark, sober and not very exciting, which is the complete opposite of the BINZ.E, a hearse based on the Tesla Model S. It is, logically, an electric car built by a German company specialising in manufacturing hearses, BINZ. The company is one of the leaders in its market niche and has been nominated for the “European Funeral Innovation Award” for its latest creation, the BINZ.E.

Spectacular performance for a hearse

The BINZ.E is unique in its kind: it stands out from the rest of hearses thanks to its electric propulsion system and its incredible performance. According to the manufacturer, the car can be bought in the P100D version, a variant that in the Tesla Model S delivers 612 CV of power and 967 Nm of peak torque, allowing it to reach 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds. It is undoubtedly the fastest hearse on the market, and one of the few electric vehicles with 500 kilometres of real-world range.

Up to the B-pillar, the BINZ.E is identical to the Tesla Model S. Beyond this point, the hearse’s rear has been modified with the addition of a glazed surface that considerably increases the vehicle’s length: the car now measures 5.82 metres long (nearly a metre more than the Tesla Model S) and 1.72 metres high.

Inside, we find a sliding platform that allows the coffin to be loaded and unloaded easily, thanks to an electric motor.

An example of modernity for hearses

BINZ assures that the car can be located remotely via app, a modern feature that is uncommon in this market niche, and which is joined by the ‘virtual key‘ (a feature that allows other drivers to access the vehicle if they are given permission).
