This is the Citroën DS9 for Beijing

It’s not new that Citroën has been showing us the teasers of the DS9 on its Facebook page. It has been doing so since last month, preparing the ground for the unveiling of this shooting brake, which will be the brand’s top-of-the-range model, and now the first pre-Beijing photos are already circulating.

I’ve said it before and I never tire of saying it. Citroën has a team of designers who leave us open-mouthed with every concept. And this one is no exception, although we would have liked the family resemblance with the smaller models in the range DS to have been pushed a little further.

As expected, the impressive Metropolis, which they presented at this same show just two years ago, has clearly inspired this saloon-coupé, as have the brand’s classic models. Without doubt, the classic DS range that brought so much satisfaction and renown to the brand, and that spent so many years under the Citroën wing, is well represented in this kind of revival, with this concept that we will see in Beijing in a few days’ time.

Like the Metropolis, the DS9 will surely be a hybrid. And although its predecessor combined a V6 engine with an electric motor, we won’t know whether the V6 has been kept for this version until the brand sheds some light on its technical specifications.
