Ford Mustang Mach-E Electric Cars ECO SUV
This is the Ford Mustang Mach-E for the British police
Ford has developed this police car concept based on the Mustang Mach-E, after evaluating the requirements of the London Metropolitan Police, which also wants to switch to “ECO” vehicles.

Ford has unveiled this unique Mustang Mach-E adapted to serve as a police car at the emergency services exhibition held in Birmingham. The police forces of the United Kingdom also want to add environmentally friendly vehicles to their fleets, and the electric SUV meets the necessary requirements.

The starting point is the Mustang Mach-E with all-wheel drive and the standard 76 kWh battery, with 269 CV of power and 400 km of range. In principle this would be more than enough to chase down the “bad guys”, and there would be no problem developing police cars with any of the mechanical variants offered in the Mustang Mach-E range, from the 4×2 versions to the Extended Range battery, with 99 kWh of capacity, which would allow patrolling for almost 600 km without having to stop at a charging point.
Patrolling the city without noise or emissions
Ford has carried out an adaptation with everything required by the tender specifications to carry out the project, focusing especially on ensuring that none of the equipment specific to these cars, such as the sirens or the additional lights, affects the range. In fact, the blue light of the siren draws the electricity it needs from the 12-volt battery, not from the vehicle’s propulsion system. The project managers assure that future developments will increase the battery capacity so that additional equipment can be installed.

Judging by the acceptance the project seems to have received, it is possible that very soon the “bobbies” will chase the bad guys making no more noise than the siren, and with no local emissions. In fact, not only the London police but also the police forces of Wales, Scotland and other counties have shown interest in this concept.
