This is the Ford Tourneo Courier, the brand's new estate that arrives in 2024

Ford has just unveiled the new Ford Tourneo Courier, the model in the range designed for family life and leisure time. This car has an image reminiscent of SUVs, yet at the same time offers enough space to travel five people and has a generous boot. All of this, in a very compact size that makes it the perfect car for the city and leisure getaways.

This model is complemented by the Tourneo Connect variant, which offers seven seats, and the Tourneo Custom, which raises capacity to nine passengers. As for the Tourneo Courier, what stands out most is the two-tone bodywork, which comes from the Active series. Machined alloy wheels and body cladding are also included, adding an extra touch to its look.

At the front we find a vertical grille, with integrated headlights, which emphasises the width and overall style of the model. One of the available colours is Bursting Green, which offers a very attractive contrast with the roof line painted in white. The large windows help highlight the model’s SUV-like appearance, with the added benefit of generous, practical space. The rear doors slide backwards, so access is very convenient and it avoids damaging the bodywork of other cars when opening doors in tight car parks.

A practical interior

Inside we find a modem that keeps the car connected at all times. The infotainment system is the SYNC 4. It is controlled through an eight-inch multimedia screen, which gives access to all the system’s functions.

Facing the driver there is a second screen, which houses the instrument cluster and keeps the driver informed about speed, traffic signs, navigation alerts and other relevant information. It also includes features for using mobile devices safely, such as a wireless charging pad, six USB ports and connectivity with Android and iPhone.

And something important: a holder to place the smartphone somewhere accessible yet secure. There are several storage spaces, so you can carry documents, charger cables and other small items within easy reach in the cabin, neatly organised and without fuss.

Driving safety is enhanced by the ADAS. In the entry-level version it includes driver assistance systems that allow safe driving, although these increase as you move up the trim levels.

Engines

All versions of the Ford Tourneo Courier fit the turbocharged 1.0-litre EcoBOOST engine, which delivers 125 CV. It is equipped with the Start & Stop system and Active Grille Shutter, which help improve engine efficiency. It is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed automatic gearbox with dual clutch.

The Ford E-Tourneo Courier is also available, featuring an electric motor, although it will not arrive until the end of 2024, so we do not yet have all the data for that version.
