This McLaren F1 is up for sale with just 239 km on the odometer!
A McLaren F1 with only 239 km on the clock since it left the factory, whose owner never drove it, is up for sale in the United Kingdom at an undisclosed price.

Imagine the feeling of buying a supercar, especially one you dreamed about throughout your childhood. Now imagine that this supercar is completely new despite being more than 20 years old. That is the case with this McLaren F1, which has only 239 km and has never been driven. Today, at Highmotor, we tell you why.
The McLaren F1 was born in 1992 in collaboration with BMW, becoming one of the most expensive and sought-after vehicles of all time. The British supercar had a very special feature: the driver’s seat was in the centre, and it could carry up to three occupants at once. But today we want to talk about this spectacular unit, which is in immaculate condition.

Specifically, this is unit number 60 of the 100 McLaren F1s that left the Woking factory between 1992 and 1998. This unit has never been driven; the few kilometres it has were covered by McLaren itself. McLaren F1 chassis number 60 still retains the protective plastics that were fitted at the factory, preventing the passage of time from damaging any of the materials of the British supercar.
But the hibernation this McLaren F1 has undergone is not the only thing that makes it special. In fact, it is a unit that came with some extras that are not usual on other F1s. For example, the exhaust system, which was fitted with the exhaust from the McLaren F1 LM, or the steering wheel, which has the same design as that of the F1 GTR and comes with a second steering wheel with inserts matching the car’s colour, Dandelion Yellow. This F1 also bears on one of its sides the signature of its designer, Gordon Murray.
Without a doubt, this F1 has automatically become a museum piece, although for motoring enthusiasts it is a sin that it has never been driven. All the items it came with from the factory are unused and completely new, such as the tool kit, the maintenance and instruction book, or a TAG Heuer watch that McLaren handed to the owner with the chassis number engraved. This unit was specifically destined for Japan, but its owner, for some reason — possibly with financial interests — left the naturally aspirated V12 of this engineering masterpiece literally standing still.

For many, the state of preservation of this car is a sacrilege, since it simply becomes a collector’s item rather than a car to be used. But it must be truly curious to get into a car more than 20 years old that still smells new. The car is for sale at the dealership of Tom Hartley Junior, which has other very interesting vehicles. The price of this McLaren F1 is currently unknown but, without a doubt, it will be one of the highest figures ever seen in the motoring world.
