This new Volkswagen Caddy Mini-Camper, so lively and spirited, will be unveiled in September.

There is no doubt that this is the year of camper vans, caravans, motorhomes and trailers. The crisis triggered by the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and the Covid-19 pandemic has led, among countless consequences, to this being the summer of road tourism. But the one we are looking at today is the most rustic variant of the 2021 van, which has been named Volkswagen Caddy Mini-Camper.

This charming, compact camper van is the spiritual and commercial successor to the Volkswagen Caddy Beach, and its construction is based on the new architecture provided by the MQB Evo platform of the Volkswagen Group.

This means a profound evolution in terms of architecture, resulting in an optimised interior space for enjoying activities far away from where the standard version spends most of its life: the city.

That is why the Volkswagen Caddy Mini-Camper, even if only as a digital image, offers advantages that maximise the enjoyment of the interior space, such as the glass panoramic roof, whose area covers no less than 1.4 square metres, allowing occupants to gaze at the dome covering the roof of this van aimed at lovers of outdoor leisure.

And as for the upper area versus the lower floor, to use a building analogy, there will be room to house both the furniture typical of camping trips and the luggage, leaving the upper level as a platform able to serve as the base that gives firmness to the bed of the lucky campers who enjoy a night under the starry sky through the aforementioned glass roof.

The technological evolution of a new camperised Volkswagen Caddy

As for the engine, the German manufacturer announces that this 2021 evolution will comply with Euro 6 regulations and refers to the equipment of TDI engines of 75 and 122 CV, which will use AdBlue, plus a petrol alternative of 116 CV.

Regarding technological evolution, the 2021 Volkswagen Caddy will feature important new developments since, although it is a model that has already incorporated the assistance and aids that automotive engineering has been adding to enhance the use and enjoyment of driving, given the increase in safety at the wheel since 2005, the new 2021 Volkswagen Caddy Mini-Camper will fit up to 19 systems corresponding to the new generation of ADAS.

The definitive version of this Volkswagen camper van will be officially presented when this summer of 2020 comes to an end, so that it will be available next year. Its debut will take place virtually at some point during this very month of September.
