This pedestrian narrowly escapes death at this zebra crossing!
Despite how dramatic the images look, this situation is more common than we might think. It involves the typical impatient driver who moves over to another lane without realising there was a zebra crossing right in front of them…
When a car ahead of you brakes with a zebra crossing just a few metres away, the chances of a pedestrian crossing are really high. Yet the impatient driver at the centre of today’s viral clip doesn’t seem to care.

This minor accident took place, of course, in Russia, and thanks to the handycam of one of the cars following the protagonist of the incident, we can share the video with you today:

As we can see in the video, the driver of the blue Dacia Renault seems to be in a great hurry, so much so that they don’t keep a reasonable safety distance from the BMW they are trying to overtake. The consequence is obvious: they were too focused on getting past and didn’t notice that, just a few metres away, there was a zebra crossing where a pedestrian was crossing.
The outcome turns out to be as predictable as it is unavoidable. The driver of the Dacia Renault slightly collides with the BMW for not having kept a prudent safety distance. Furthermore, they are forced to perform an evasive manoeuvre and then mount the pavement to avoid running over the pedestrian, who is suddenly startled by this Dacia that appears out of nowhere.

The person crossing was extremely lucky, since the Dacia may not have been travelling excessively fast; however, the impact could have been fatal. Thanks to the quick reaction of the driver of the Dacia and divine intervention, miraculously nothing happened, but it is always worthwhile watching videos like this to raise awareness of situations that many of us have come close to experiencing.
