Toyota FCV Concept: 500 kilometers of range thanks to hydrogen

Slow but steady, that is how we could describe the evolution of fuel cells powered by hydrogen. Little by little they keep advancing, developing and expanding their technology, offering ever better performance with greater range.
This is the case of the latest vehicle developed by Toyota, the FCV Concept, which will be presented at the Tokyo Motor Show loaded with novelties and technology related to the fuel cell.
The Toyota FCV Concept is presented as one of the most realistic and interesting projects of recent years. It is a mid-size saloon measuring 4.8 metres in length (slightly longer than a current Prius).
Design is not the most important part of this concept, although it is a vehicle with relatively conservative lines which, with light touch-ups, could reach production lines without much trouble.

What is truly interesting about the FCV Concept is hidden inside. With an electric motor of more than 160 CV powered by a hydrogen fuel cell system, it is capable of offering a range of over 500 kilometers, which represents a new benchmark among vehicles that use hydrogen as fuel.
Another truly curious fact is the energy capacity of the FCV Concept, since, according to Toyota, it is capable of supplying energy for a full week to an average-sized Japanese home. Its commercialisation, according to the brand, is planned for 2015.
