Toyota Prius+ 2016: we know its price and availability for Spain

After being presented at several Motor Shows, the new Toyota Prius+ 2016 has arrived in Spain. It is the first seven-seat car with hybrid propulsion. This new Prius+ range features important novelties in the hybrid propulsion system, the equipment and the interior. It can now be seen at dealerships across the country, and you can request a road test before choosing your next vehicle.

One of the areas that has received an update is the propulsion system, which features a continuously variable transmission (CVT). With these improvements, the driver feels more actively the response resulting from pressing the accelerator, with better throttle response that produces a more lively sensation. The acceleration of the 1.8-litre VVT-i engine with Atkinson cycle has been maintained, despite a reduction of 1,000 rpm. The electric motor has been used to compensate for that reduction in revolutions.

The brand’s engineers have also worked to reduce the volume of sound and noise in the cabin thanks to changes made to the platform, achieving more effective insulation that reduces the noise coming from the engines. This is not the only change noticeable in the interior of the model, as the technological equipment has also been improved with the incorporation of the infotainment system. It now features the Toyota Touch 2, which was presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2016.

Using the touchscreen is simpler and more intuitive, with redesigned menus. It is also easier to use the assistance portal with the My Toyota brand, so connectivity improves considerably and offers a more active and interesting experience. The multimedia system is called Touch & Go 2 and includes three years of updates and internet connection to find any location you are looking for.

There are three trim levels aimed at the Spanish market: Advance, Executive and ECO. The first two optionally include the Hybrid Pack, which features Velours floor mats, the Hybrid logo, chrome door sill trim and an exclusive hybrid key cover. The Midnight Blue colour joins the body colour options. The price of this model starts at 26,650 euros, although you can see the full price list below.
