Toyota presents its offering aimed at the MPV segment, with the Proace Verso, and at the light commercial vehicle segment with the Proace Furgón. Both share platform and engines; the difference lies in that they target different types of customers, meeting the needs of each one, whether professionals, private individuals or companies.

Three body sizes: Compact, L1 or Medium and L2 or Long. Both the Proace Verso and the Proace Furgón are available in three body sizes: Compact, L1 or Medium and L2 or Long. The Compact version measures 4.6 m in length and has a 2.9 m wheelbase, offering an excellent balance between size and space, with a cabin for up to nine seats in the case of the Proace Verso, or a cargo area of 4.6 to 5.1 m³ in volume in the case of the Proace Furgón.

The L1 or Medium variant measures 4.9 m long, with a 3.2 m wheelbase, the same as the L2 or Long version, although the latter has a longer rear overhang so that the load length reaches 5.3 metres. All variants of the Proace Verso and Proace Furgón measure 2.2 m in width and 1.9 m in height.

PROACE VERSO

Inside, it has room to comfortably accommodate up to nine occupants, making it a good choice for Toyota passenger transport. Besides being available in three body sizes, it can be chosen in three trim levels: Shuttle, Family and VIP.

Available in three trims: Shuttle, Family and VIP.Self-employed drivers who also want to use this vehicle for leisure will find the Shuttle trim features a rubber floor with mats and high-quality cloth upholstery, in six- or nine-seat configuration.

Space takes centre stage in the Family trim, mainly thanks to modularity and comfort geared more towards leisure. This equipment level has eight seats, two front seats and two rear rows with seats mounted on rails, sliding and removable, providing great versatility, much like an MPV.

The VIP variant is aimed more at executive transport, so it features tinted windows and top-of-the-range equipment and comfort levels. The interior configuration has a six- or seven-seat layout, with the last two rows of seats on rails, sliding and removable.

PROACE FURGÓN

It is the Toyota entry in the light commercial segment, initially available in two body variants: Proace Furgón Compact and Proace Furgón Medium (L1), two different wheelbase lengths: 2,925 and 3,275 mm, and two equipment levels: Business and Comfort.

You can also choose between a van body and a Double Cab (Crew Cab) body, to which a Combi variant for passenger transport will be added later in 2017, as well as a Platform Cab. Its well-thought-out design offers the load space of a car-derived van for professional use. Its three-seat front cab is complemented by a 2.1 m long by 1.6 m wide cargo compartment, achieving a total cargo volume of 4.6 m³.

The new Proace Furgón features the innovative Intelligent Cargo system (Smart Cargo), which combines a hatch in the cab partition panel and the cargo space with a folding base of the front passenger seat to extend the loading length by 116 cm. This increases transport capacity, bringing the total cargo volume up to 5.1 m³ with a maximum length of 3.3 m.

The Smart Cargo system also includes a storage space under the passenger seat bench and a folding table integrated into the back of the centre seat, with a swivel tray for items such as folders, document holders or a laptop.

The engine range for both vehicles includes five diesel options, from the 1.6 D-4D with 95 and 115 hp to the 2.0 D-4D with 122, 150 and 177 hp outputs. Depending on the version, they may be paired with five- and six-speed manual gearboxes, or an automatic transmission, reserved only for the most powerful engine.

The new Proace Verso and Proace Furgón come equipped with Toyota Safety Sense, a set of active safety and driver-assistance technologies that can prevent or mitigate the consequences of a collision. Toyota Safety Sense includes: the Pre-Collision Safety System with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Driver Attention Alert, Road Sign Recognition, Intelligent High Beam Control, Adaptive Cruise Control and Intelligent High Beam Control.
