The Audi R8 V10 is eager to cover the Spanish roads

Following its presentation of the Audi AudiR8 Spyder at the New York Motor Show in March, we were waiting for this spectacular model to arrive on the Spanish market. At last, the wait is over, and convertible car lovers have the option of getting one of the units that will be made available to Spanish buyers from this month.
The car combines the specifications of the Audi AudiR8, but adds to the equation the feeling of driving with the roof down and feeling the full power of the 5.2-litre engine. This naturally aspirated V10 FSI unit delivers 540 CV and a maximum torque of 540 Nm, two figures that allow the car to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in just 3.6 seconds. In this way, it surpasses its predecessor in power, top speed and acceleration.
New chassis and technological equipment
The model is built on the new Audi Space Frame chassis, made from aluminium and carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic elements, with torsional rigidity that improves on the previous version’s figures by 50%. The car’s kerb weight is 1,720 kilos, a weight that reduces resistance to motion and allows fuel savings of up to 10% compared with the previous model.
The new convertible version of the R8 features the Audi Virtual Cockpit. The considerable power of the engine is delivered to all four wheels thanks to the seven-speed S tronic gearbox, sending full power to the front or rear axle depending on the driving needs at each moment. In addition, the Audi Drive Select driving mode system allows the car’s behaviour to be adapted to different roads, getting the most out of motorways and offering greater control on mountain-road bends.
Inside, you will find a multifunction plus steering wheel, which comes as standard and includes the start button. As an option, two further control blocks can be added, one controlling exhaust sound and another for performance mode. The Audi Virtual Cockpit ensures all controls are oriented towards the driver, so they can stay focused on the road without diverting their attention to anything other than that.
It also features the 12.3-inch screen, which displays all the information needed to keep the car under control and to be aware of destination information. On the outside, it has new LED laser headlights, which offer the driver greater visibility and a very distinctive light signature.
The Audi R8 Spyder V10 is now available and starts at a price of 209,420 euros.
