Toyota Proace Verso Camper, another option for enjoying nature
Toyota has partnered with the converter Tinkervan to add the new Proace Verso Camper to its catalogue, which will delight nature lovers

Toyota updated its Proace Verso people carrier a couple of years ago, offering it on a single body in an estate version for passenger transport or a “cargo” version for commercial use. Unfortunately, no camper-converted version of the Proace Verso was available, except in the United Kingdom if you opted for the conversion carried out by Wellhouse Leisure. But luckily Toyota seems to have changed its mind and will offer a camper-converted version of its Proace Verso in its catalogue.
To do so, Toyota has decided to partner with Tinkervan, the company from Huesca specialising in camper conversions that you will probably know from other conversions on brands such as Ford, Citroën or Peugeot throughout its long career. In addition, to suit the tastes and needs of its future owners, the new Toyota Proace Verso will be offered in three trim levels and two diesel engines.
Based on the equipment of the Family version, the first trim level of the Proace Verso Camper is the Outfun. Despite being the basic trim, don’t expect a bare-bones setup: it already comes with equipment worthy of any nature lover, including items such as:
- Swivel seats for driver and passenger.
- 100 Ah auxiliary battery.
- Two 12 V sockets.
- Two USB connections.
- Three integrated LED lights with two brightness levels.
- Airlock for the opening rear window of the tailgate (a device that seals the window to allow air circulation).
- 31-litre removable fridge.
- 550 W Waeco inverter.
- Electric shower with a 12-litre water heater.
- Rear bumper protector.
- Interior table and exterior chairs.

But if what we want is to live the camper spirit a step further, Toyota offers two more trim levels, the next being the Nomad trim. This trim adds to everything mentioned above, except the rear bed, a pop-up roof with pneumatic opening and a 2 x 1.30 m bed frame with a slatted base, also fitted with two large mosquito-net windows and an LED reading lamp for lighting. With the roof raised, interior headroom increases to 2.50 m, with a rear bed height of 40 cm.
In the top trim, called Nomad Plus, we add to everything above a programmable diesel auxiliary heater with a height kit so that the coldest nights can be spent comfortably inside, plus an additional 12 V auxiliary socket and a double USB 4.2 A socket. As extras, Toyota offers a rear bike rack, an exterior 220 V socket and an awning to protect us from the sun.

Mechanically, the Toyota Proace Verso Camper will be offered with two diesel engines, the smaller option being the 1.5 120 CV paired with a six-speed manual gearbox; in the basic versions it has a combined consumption of 4.9 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 130 g/km. If you want a bit more power you will have to choose the 2.0 engine, which delivers 150 CV, paired with the same manual gearbox and with a combined consumption of 5.6 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 147 g/km.
The Toyota Proace Verso Camper is already available in the brand’s Spanish dealership network, with a starting price of 37,075 euros.
