Starting in July, Toyota will launch a program in Japan for the sale of charging stations for electric vehicles, which may be purchased both by the customers themselves and by service companies or simply large stores that wish to offer a charging service.

The charging stations in question are the G-Station, which can be operated using smart cards (it will not be long before these cards become essential for leaving the house), allowing users to refuel without cash or credit cards, in addition to having internet connectivity available and being compatible with all electricity charging systems; that is, not only will they serve Toyota cars but any type of electric vehicle.

G-Station prices range from just over 2,500 euros to almost 5,000 euros, and will be available in only two models, whose differences are greater in telematic capabilities with the customer.

Toyota’s estimates suggest that by the end of next year, some 3,000 of these points will be operating in Japan alone, and their worldwide commercialization has not yet been decided.
