Tremendous humiliation for a Porsche Cayman when trying to keep up with a Tesla Model S

A race between a Tesla Model S and a Porsche Cayman ends in the most unexpected way possible.

Given that the Tesla Model S has instant acceleration, it’s only logical that sports cars of the calibre of the Porsche Cayman wouldn’t have much to do in a straight line against the electric saloon. But nor would one expect the German model to make such a fool of itself against the Tesla Model S the way it does in this video.

The sequence begins with a Tesla Model S in front, followed by a Porsche Cayman. Thanks to the rear-facing camera fitted to the electric model, we can see how the German car tries to keep pace on a couple of occasions, a situation that hinted at what could have been an interesting acceleration duel, but nothing could be further from the truth… After exiting a bend, the Tesla Model S shoots off like a missile, and in its attempt to follow, we can see the driver of the Porsche Cayman overdo the throttle too early, which inevitably ends in an embarrassing spin and the uncontrollable laughter of the driver of the Tesla.

We’re sure the owner of the Porsche Cayman went home with his tail between his legs after his disappointing performance. But he has probably learned a lesson: taking on a car – Tesla Model S – that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h as fast as a sporty street motorbike (up to 2.28 seconds) with a German sports car – Porsche Cayman – that takes no less than 4 seconds (between 4.6 and 4.2 seconds) is not a good idea.
