Three "concept cars" by Jeep in tune with Jazz at Montreux

Summer festivals are designed to offer what we need during these days of leisure and recreation, when we are not working. And among these things is the chance to discover new proposals in the automotive world, which is always on the lookout and presents us with some of the vehicles that aim to impress us. At the Montreux Jazz Festival, three luxury guests have been invited who are somewhat far removed from the world of music but who, for a few days, have become the stars of this veteran jazz festival.

The three Jeep models have been designed to pay tribute to the first 50 years of this gathering of artists and musicians of this particular style of music. These three vehicles have been adapted to honour this musical style. The people in charge of turning these three Jeeps into cars linked to music were the technicians at Garage Italia Customs. This is how the Jeep Cherokee Jazz, the Jeep Renegade Vinyl and the Jeep Grand Cherokee Score were born.

Three models to celebrate music

The Jeep Cherokee Jazz is based on the Limited and features a 2.2-litre Multijet diesel engine producing 200 CV, managed by a nine-speed gearbox. To shape it, they took inspiration from a guitar, covering the bodywork with vinyl wraps. They then painted over these to achieve the look they wanted: black tones at the front and reddish tones at the rear, while leaving visible the part that imitates wood. Inside, they used a similar scheme to give that same image to the leather-upholstered seats.

The second Jeep converted as a tribute to Jazz is the Renegade Vinyl, which pays homage to vinyl records. For decades this medium carried the great pieces of this musical style, and that became the concept for the car’s design. The Trailhawk version was the basis for this model, and it is powered by a 170 CV Multijet II turbodiesel engine coupled to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The decoration is based on the microgrooves of vinyl records, and this motif is repeated inside the cabin as well.

Finally, the Grand Cherokee Score is based on the top-of-the-range model and features an image that recalls the sheets on which music is written. The sound comes from a 250 CV 3.0-litre Multijet II engine and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. All three cars will be on display during the concert: the Grand Cherokee Score at the entrance to the Stravinski Auditorium, the main stage of the festival, and the other two at the stand that Jeep has set up on the grounds.
