Trio of aces from Bentley to win over Chinese buyers

The Chinese market is the scenario many manufacturers had been waiting for. A appetite for new cars of a certain class, offering premium-level features. That is why Bentley wants to stand out among the other exhibitors at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show, and has prepared an arrival with its three most prominent models from recent months. Thus, the British manufacturer’s stand will host the Bentley Bentayga V8, the Bentley Mulsanne and the Bentley Continental GT.

The first model in this trio of luxury vehicles is the latest version of Bentley’s SUV, which shares its engine with the Porsche Panamera Turbo. The mechanicals common to these two models deliver 542 CV and 770 Nm of torque. The acceleration from this engine takes the car to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and up to 290 km/h. With a full tank, the Bentley Bentayga V8 can travel up to 746 kilometres and emits 260 g/km, a fairly restrained figure given the engine type and its performance.

To reach Beijing, this model will be offered with the full power of the V8 engine and twin twin-pipe exhausts. Optional ceramic brakes have been added, improving the car’s control. In the case of the Bentley Mulsanne, the emphasis is on the longer wheelbase, which offers more legroom in the rear seats. It is defined as “the most luxurious Bentley in history“, which is a good hook for Chinese buyers to take notice.

Comfort matters to Chinese buyers, so the rear seats are independent, featuring elements such as cup holders, pen holders for those who need to work, and fine materials such as wood, leather, glass and other handmade elements. Finally, the Bentley Continental GT presents its third generation, powered by a 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 engine producing 635 CV, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

This model uses 48-volt hybrid technology to improve its performance and deliver a very intense driving experience. These three models aim to make Bentley one of the preferred brands of Chinese buyers looking for an edge in their daily lives. And it is certainly a good choice.
