Triumph Street Triple RS 2020, the British streetfighter gets renewed with new technology
Drawing on its experience in the Moto2 World Championship, Triumph presents the new Street Triple RS with state-of-the-art technology and an updated engine

The Street Triple is a motorcycle that, since its debut in 2007, has reflected the excellent craftsmanship of the British company, characterised by its powerful three-cylinder engine and a lightness that made it one of the favourites for any garage. Triumph is now the sole engine supplier in the Moto2 World Championship, so it has wanted to bring part of the experience gained in competition to its iconic streetfighter.
If the Triumph Street Triple has always stood out for its aggressive style, this new RS version will be no different, but with newly designed elements. Its gaze will remain just as challenging thanks to its new twin headlights, now LED with DRLs, above which we find a new, compact cowl typical of a good naked bike, leading to new side fairings, a keel and a tail unit with a design that could easily pass for that of an R.

Beyond the design changes made to the most visible parts, the new Triumph Street Triple RS also adds other components that receive a new design and that may go more unnoticed. These elements are the new mirrors fitted at the ends of the handlebars, next to the bar-end weights, the handlebar clamp with the brand logo, and the rear footpegs with dark-toned heel guards. In addition, it will be offered in two colour combinations: Matt Jet Black with yellow decals and silver aluminium and, on the other hand, Silver Ice with red decals and silver aluminium; all complemented by the chassis painted in Titanium Silver, just as the brand does with its big sister, the Speed Triple.
Mechanically, the new Triumph Street Triple RS continues to use the 765 cc three-cylinder engine, but drawing on the brand’s experience in Moto2 it receives certain updates that allow it to deliver more power. This means we now have 123 CV under the seat at 11,750 rpm and a torque figure that rises by 9% to 79 Nm at 9,350 rpm. Associated with this engine we will have the Triumph ShiftAssist system, which allows quick gear changes without needing to use the clutch or roll off the throttle, both for upshifts and downshifts.

Continuing with the mechanical side, there is also a new exhaust system that delivers torque in a more linear way at low revs, thanks to the twin-catalyser system, which also allows it to comply with the Euro 5 standard without losing its characteristic sound, partly thanks to the new intake trumpet. So that all its power can be released with control, Triumph has equipped the Street Triple RS as standard with a substantial technology package, including adjustable ABS, switchable traction control, and five riding modes (Road, Rain, Sport, Track and Rider), all accompanied by the adjustable 41 mm Showa BPF front fork, adjustable Öhlins rear shock, a Brembo-signed braking system with four-piston calipers, and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tyres.
To finish with the new additions, at the controls you will find a new state-of-the-art TFT instrument panel featuring new graphics with customisation options to handle the new functions as easily as possible, such as the MyTriumph system, which lets you use features such as Bluetooth connectivity and navigation, among others.
The new Triumph Street Triple RS will soon be available to buy in Spain, specifically from December, with a starting price for our market of €12,350.
