Supercars are making a strong push into electric mobility, and more and more brands specialising in this type of mobility are preparing models to attract their many and very varied potential customers. From Sri Lanka comes Vega Innovations, which is going to present the Vega EVX, an electric supercar that will arrive at the Geneva Motor Show.

The Vega EVX is billed as the first electric car from South Asia and is a single-seater with the look of a classic supercar. In fact, its front end is very similar to the one seen on the Ferrari F458 Italia, so it has a familiar look. The body it is built on is made of carbon fibre, and its bodywork includes elements that make it a very attractive car.

Large air intakes, well-defined sides and carbon fibre elements left exposed to convey an image of luxury and exclusivity. At the front we can see LED daytime running lights and a massive diffuser. At the rear there is a rear diffuser and brake lights that span the entire rear end.

Not much has been specified about the interior, although we can see that it features a centre console trimmed in leather with decorative carbon fibre mouldings. It also appears to have a Spark Connected wireless charger, an accessory that is increasingly necessary in a car of this kind.

Electric motors of the Vega EVX Electric

In terms of performance, the Vega EVX has two motors, one on each axle, delivering a combined output of 600 kW, the equivalent of 815 CV, and a peak torque of 760 Nm. This supercar has a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 3.1 seconds. The motors are powered by electricity stored in a 55 kWh battery pack, which gives it a range of 300 kilometres.

In 2021 a 130 kWh battery pack will possibly arrive, which will increase the supercar’s range to 750 kilometres. As for other news, Vega Innovations says it is working on other electric mobility solutions together with several international partners, which will arrive shortly.
