Volkswagen announces the Golf Rabbit Last Edition

The model bows out in Spain with an edition that, for €16,900, adds new budget packs and an extended warranty.

The sixth generation of the German compact has only months left to live. Its successor will be unveiled at the next Paris Motor Show this autumn, and its commercial launch will follow shortly after. So Volkswagen Spain continues to launch offers to sell off the remaining units of the current model at attractive prices. The latest arrival is the Golf Last Edition, based on the Rabbit and which, despite what its name suggests, the industry has taught us not to take at face value as being the last.

Just like the previous edition, the Rabbit Last Edition keeps the 1.2 TSI engine with 105 horsepower and the 1.6 TDI with 90 and 105 CV. It can likewise be ordered in the same two trim levels. The entry-level trim is the Advance, which in this new limited series can be upgraded with the optional Advance Multifunction pack. This includes features such as the Multifunction Plus display, a photochromic interior mirror, a leather multifunction steering wheel, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers and paddle shifters for the steering wheel when fitted with the DSG gearbox.

The other trim is the Sport, which receives another pack with extras at a lower price than if bought separately. The Sport & More adds to the standard equipment list items such as self-steering Bi-Xenon headlights with daytime LEDs, sport suspension or 17-inch Porto alloy wheels with 225/45 R17 tyres.

Prices start from €16,900 for a Golf Rabbit Last Edition in Advance trim with the 1.2 TSI engine. However, Volkswagen keeps the same price in this edition for both the three-door and five-door versions. In addition, the customer benefits from a four-year or 60,000-kilometre warranty with free maintenance.
