Volkswagen Beetle Dune, the Crossover version of the iconic model
New Volkswagen Beetle Dune
The legendary model from the German brand welcomes another member to its range, with an approach somewhat different from the conventional model. The Volkswagen Beetle Dune retains the essence of the original car, but adds an SUV look that has been so fashionable lately. The exterior styling reveals this distinguishing feature in its bodywork, giving it more strength and presence. It is available as a Coupé and as a Cabrio.
The most obvious distinctive features are: the greater ground clearance, a wider track, the black-painted side sills and widened wheel arches, the individual bumpers with diffusers at the front and rear, the cladded side skirts and 18-inch “Canyon” light-alloy wheels. The package is completed by the choice of seven body colours: White, Black and Deep Black (pearl effect), plus the metallic Sandstorm Yellow, Dark Bronze, Platinum Grey and Light Silver.
Available as Cabrio and Coupé
Inside, the new Volkswagen Beetle Dune also features elements such as specific colours on the dashboard, whose glovebox recalls that of the former air-cooled model. These colours are also present in the armrests and door trims, and in the surrounds of the additional instruments. The seats feature upholstery that combines black with “Sandstorm”, “Curry” and “Sandstorm Yellow Metallic”. In addition, both the upholstery and the floor mats are accented by decorative stitching.
The new Volkswagen Beetle Dune bases its equipment on the “Design” trim, to which it adds automatic headlight activation with daytime running lights, as well as the “Leaving home” and “Coming home” functions, heated front sport seats with lumbar support, an illuminated vanity mirror, two front reading lamps, automatic cruise control, an automatically dimming interior rear-view mirror, rain sensor, and the “ParkPilot” and hill-start assist systems.

It comes equipped with “Composition Media”, which features a 6.3-inch screen, and as an option you can choose “Discover Media”, which adds satellite navigation. Both are included in the latest generation of the Modular Infotainment Platform (MIB) of Volkswagen. It offers App-Connect, which includes MirrorLink, Google’s Android Auto and Apple’s CarPlay. A high-end sound system from the prestigious Fender brand is also available, delivering 400 watts of power.
The engines available for this exclusive version are: two TSI petrol engines producing 150 and 220 hp, and a 150 hp TDI diesel engine. They can be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, and optionally a 6- or 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. All engines meet Euro 6 standards and come standard with Start/Stop and brake energy recovery systems.
This unique SUV called Dune, based on the Volkswagen Beetle, launches in Spain at a starting price of 25,200 euros for the Coupé version and 29,400 euros for the Cabrio version.
