Volkswagen California Beach, a classic camper that gets a refresh for 2020
The camper version of the German brand includes a foldable kitchen in the most basic version of the range, which can be tucked away and set up easily for use

Camper vehicles are becoming increasingly popular, and brands are taking great care with these models designed for travelling and spending the night away from home. One of the most popular camper van models is the Volkswagen California, and one of its variants, the California Beach, has just received an update that will be presented at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf over the coming days.
The Volkswagen California Beach includes a kitchen as part of its basic equipment level, so you can prepare the most delicious dishes during those trips along roads all over the world. This equipment was previously available in the higher trim levels, called California Coast and California Ocean. This kitchen is located on one side and folds away easily so the vehicle can be driven safely and comfortably.

This small kitchen features a gas hob next to a work surface, two very practical elements that also allow a cover with a work surface to be fitted, which extends the workspace so ingredients can be prepared calmly before going on the heat.

CALIFORNIA CALIFORNIA BEACH 2020
The Volkswagen California Beach can be ordered with a three-seat rear bench, so that passengers can travel comfortably and enjoy a more comfortable, trouble-free journey, without giving up the possibilities offered by having this foldable kitchen on board the van.
When not in use, the kitchen folds away between the B and C pillars, so it does not get in the way at all. To complete the kitchen service, a storage space has been added at the bottom of the kitchen area, and another closed compartment for a 1.8-litre gas bottle.
A version of the Volkswagen California without this kitchen will continue to be sold, and will be called the Volkswagen California Beach Tourer. This version will have two sliding doors, one on each side, another difference that makes it equally interesting. Both versions will include a digital driving control on the roof console and hydraulic roof activation as an option.
The price of this new version of the Volkswagen California Beach starts at 48,795.95 euros in Germany, so we assume it will have a similar price in Spain.
