The commercial vehicle division of Volkswagen has presented two new versions of its Caravelle model, designed for professionals and private customers who want a van for transporting people and goods or for comfortably carrying the whole family

The line separating commercial vehicles from private-use vehicles is becoming increasingly blurred, and the former are becoming more and more similar to the latter, in terms of performance as well as equipment and comfort. In this case, Volkswagen introduces two trim levels of its Caravelle model, one of the most popular in the German brand’s range. These two trim levels are the Caravelle Trendline and Premium.

The Trendline trim offers a level of finish that is usually found in a mid-to-upper-range private model. In addition, its cabin offers great versatility, with the option of up to eight seats, and the interior can be adapted to reduce the number of seats and increase cargo space. The equipment also includes the Composition Colour radio CD with 5-inch touchscreen and a multifunction display information system.

In addition, users of this version of the Volkswagen van can enjoy a Climatic air-conditioning system, fog lights with cornering function, and driver-assistance features such as Front Assist and Driver Alert. As for engines, the Caravelle Trendline offers a 2.0-litre TDI engine, delivering 102 or 150 CV, depending on the option chosen. It can also optionally be fitted with a DSG gearbox and 4Motion all-wheel drive.

The most complete version of the Caravelle range is the Premium trim, which can be used by a company that needs a vehicle for transporting people or by a large family that needs a vehicle of these characteristics, with equipment suited to everyday use. It includes elements similar to the previous trim, but improved.

Thus, the Radio CD screen increases to 6.3 inches and the climate control is three-zone. On the exterior, the model’s exclusivity is evident in the heated mirrors and the 16- or 17-inch alloy wheels, depending on the engine chosen.

The 2.0 TDI engine is available in 150 and 204 CV, offered in combination with the six-speed manual gearbox or the DSG automatic gearbox, which can also be paired with 4Motion all-wheel drive. The Caravelle Trendline 102 CV starts at 25,700 euros, while the 150 CV model starts at 28,300 euros. The 150 CV Premium trim has a price of 35,000 euros.
