Volkswagen expands the ID. Buzz range with a new entry-level version and the top-of-the-range GTX AWD

The Commercial Vehicles division of Volkswagen has just announced the expansion of its ID. Buzz range with five new versions, including an entry-level version at a much more competitive price, starting below 50,000 euros in Germany; and also, at the very top of the range, the long-awaited GTX version with dual electric motors and all-wheel drive.

Starting with the latter, the new ID. Buzz GTX is available in short and long wheelbase variants, equipped with a 79 kWh battery pack in the former and an 86 kWh pack in the latter. This high-performance model raises the combined output of its two motors to 250 kW, allowing it to tow a trailer of up to 1,800 kg. In this way, the ID. Buzz GTX appears to be the perfect alternative for anyone seeking superior performance that allows them to hitch a trailer on their leisure trips without complications.

Additionally, and for those with a tighter budget, Volkswagen has announced the availability of the entry-level versions of the range, ID. Buzz Pure and Freestyle, both equipped with a 59 kWh battery pack. The ID. Buzz Freestyle is positioned as the most affordable option, with a starting price in Germany of 49,998 euros, while the Pure version is offered from 54,127 euros. These versions, by incorporating a battery pack of reduced capacity in order to adjust their selling price, obviously have a shorter range, which according to the manufacturer reaches 330 km on a single charge under the WLTP homologation cycle, while the power of their single electric motor is 125 kW.

The ID. Buzz Freestyle stands out for its design, with black details on the lower part of the doors, bumpers with a dark finish and 18-inch wheels with silver covers. The Pure, meanwhile, sits one step above within the range, including driver assistance systems on the same level as the Pro version, automatic air conditioning, folding tables on the front seatbacks and LED lights.
