Up! Volkswagen Electric Cars Technology
Volkswagen expands the mobility services of the e-Up!

Volkswagen has announced that this year the owners of an e-Up!, the electric version of the city car, will have access to new services that make its use and maintenance easier. For now, they can only be ordered in Germany, and the manufacturer has not yet mentioned whether they will be exported to other markets. Nevertheless, as a model promotion strategy, they would be interesting.
The first of these additional services is aimed at users concerned about electric range limits. During the first three years after buying an e-Up!, Volkswagen gives owners the option of renting another model of the brand with a combustion engine when they are going to make a long trip or need to carry heavy loads. The rental, which lasts thirty days, is free until a certain distance has been covered.
The second service consists of requesting the installation of a battery charging point at home. This one, which costs 950 euros, is provided by Volkswagen itself and allows the car owner not to always have to depend on public charging points. The e-Up! batteries need six hours to charge fully with this method.
Finally, Volkswagen has announced new online applications to connect with the e-Up! These serve, for example, to obtain data on the charge of its batteries or to schedule its recharging remotely. However, it has not listed which types of mobile devices it can be used on.
