Volkswagen launches the Beetle 53 Edition in Spain

Volkswagen has begun selling the Beetle 53 Edition in Spain, a car entirely inspired by Herbie, the famous Beetle star of the Disney films. As we have said, it is a version with a design inspired by the “beetle” that starred in the 1968 film “The Love Bug”, with an unmistakable tricolour stripe in red, white and blue and the number 53 on the bonnet. The “Escarabajo” inscription is also not missing.
The equipment will start from the Design trim, with some extra touches. Inside, there will also be the Beetle 53 special design bands on the glovebox. The package will include the Park Pilot parking assistant, as well as a tyre sensor. In addition, on the outside, there will be 17-inch Type One Design alloy wheels in white.
There will be four different engines available in this option: one petrol and three diesel. The petrol version will be the 1.2 TSI with 105 CV and a six-speed manual gearbox, with emissions of 137 g of CO2. The diesel versions will be the 1.6 TDI 105 CV, the 2.0 TDI 140 CV and the 2.0 TDI 140 CV DSG 6-speed. The difference between the last two is the gearbox, as one has five speeds and the other six.
Don’t be alarmed, the prices will be the same as for the “standard” version:
- 1.2 TSI 105 CV: 22,090 EUR
- 1.6 TDI 105 CV: 23,770 EUR
- 2.0 TDI 140 CV: 26,150 EUR
- 2.0 TDI 140 CV DSG 6-speed: 27,980 EUR
