Volkswagen presents a concept taxi based on the Up!

Volkswagen has unveiled in London the latest prototype based on the already well-known Up! concept, a model of a future taxi. Under the name Volkswagen Up! Taxi the German brand shows us a prototype measuring about 3.730 metres long, 1.690 metres wide and 1.600 metres high.
Inside, it features a cabin with a fairly futuristic design and elements that remind us we are still looking at a concept. Although its exterior increasingly takes on a more definitive appearance, closer to that of the production model.

One of the most curious details is that the doors on the left side open electrically to make it easier for customers to get in and out. It has an electric motor that delivers up to 110 CV, powered by lithium batteries that can be recharged to 80% in one hour. All of this allows the Volkswagen Up! Taxi to reach 100 km/h in just under 10 seconds, with a range that allows it to drive about 300 km.
