Volkswagen shows us the innards of the new Golf MK7
Volkswagen has just unveiled the new MQB platform on which the future models of Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda and Seat will be built

Thanks to the latest event held at the headquarters that Volkswagen has in Wolfsburg, we have just come to know much more in depth the new Golf in its latest generation. I say much more in depth because what the German brand has really presented is the new platform on which the latest generation of the well-known compact will be built.
Specifically, we are talking about the MQB platform, a new architecture that, according to the German brand itself, will ultimately be classified as the most important in the group, since the new Volkswagen Polo, Beetle, Passat and CC, as well as the new Audi A3 and all the derivatives of Seat and Skoda, will be built on it.

Going into detail, one of the most outstanding aspects of this new platform is precisely its flexibility in terms of wheelbase, track width, wheel size and distance between the seats. As you can see, it is a universal platform with which Volkswagen will achieve better performance both in dynamic and mechanical aspects and at a financial level.
As an example of the above, we have Volkswagen’s promise that, despite the wheelbase and the different settings, all the models that are ultimately built on the MQB platform, regardless of the brand that markets them, will be able to be built on the same production line.
Another point to keep in mind about this platform is that the engines will be mounted transversely, both petrol and diesel, which leaves enough room for the later installation of alternative propulsion systems such as hybrids or pure electric ones.
