Volvo officially unveils the Cross Country version of the best-selling SUV, the EX30
Although the Volvo EX30 can be classified as a vehicle that fits perfectly into everyday city life, its new Cross Country variant is anything but urban.
The Swedish manufacturer Volvo, under the control of Chinese giant Geely, has just expanded its range of electric models with the addition of a Cross Country version of the EX30, the compact electric SUV that has been achieving such strong sales results. As its name suggests, this new variant stands out for its rugged appearance and increased ground clearance, making it the perfect alternative for those who find the road too limiting and need to venture off into rough terrain from time to time.
The Volvo EX30 Cross Country is based on the Ultra version of the standard EX30, which offers a higher level of equipment, and adds several extra elements to give it a more rugged character. It retains the all-wheel drive of the Ultra version, thanks to its two electric motors that together deliver 315 kW of power.

The battery pack is also the same, with a 64 kWh net capacity, allowing it to travel 427 km on a single charge. When it comes to recharging, at an ultra-rapid DC charging point it supports a maximum power of 153 kW, while for AC charging using a wallbox it features an onboard charger of 22 kW.
The EX30 goes off on an adventure
Among the special features of this Cross Country variant, its chassis stands out, with greater ground clearance reaching 190 millimetres, new five-spoke alloy wheels, and matte black protective elements at the front and rear as standard equipment. Volvo also offers, as optional extras, 18-inch all-terrain wheels, roof rails, a roof basket and mudguards. All of these elements can be ordered individually or together in a package the manufacturer has named “Cross Country Experience“.
The EX30 Cross Country is available in four paint colours, all of them with a black roof as standard. As for the interior, it retains the same functionality as the standard EX30, with multiple storage compartments, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel as standard equipment.

That said, you’re surely wondering how much it costs. In Germany, the new EX30 Cross Country is now available to order from €57,290. That represents a price increase of €2,000 over the Ultra version of the standard EX30, which costs €55,290 in this market. Volvo also states that first deliveries of this Cross Country variant of the EX30 will take place this coming spring, although it has not yet revealed a more precise date.
