Almost a year ago, the Swedish brand announced its intention to develop three concept models that would anticipate the future of Volvo’s new models. In September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, they unveiled the first one, the Volvo Concept Coupé, which debuted the newly developed platform.

Now Volvo is showing us, through a teaser, the second of the three concept models, named Volvo XC Concept Coupé. It will be officially presented at the Detroit Motor Show, which kicks off in mid-January, but Volvo will likely release new images before then.

The Volvo XC Concept Coupé will also feature the SPA platform, which will be used on numerous future models from the brand, and could fit a new propulsion system aimed at reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. This platform steers Volvo toward a more elegant and futuristic design, with the goal of strengthening its position in the markets.

For now, the Swedish brand has shared three images of the Volvo XC Concept Coupé showing a large front grille dominated by headlights that incorporate LED technology. Meanwhile, the rear is defined by its wide shapes and what appears to be a double exhaust outlet. We will be keeping a close eye out for new images or information that Volvo may publish about this new concept.
