What are the most popular car brands in each country of the world?
This map shows which manufacturers are the most searched for on Google in each country of the world. Toyota is the most popular car brand, followed by BMW.
Although Volkswagen has overtaken Toyota as the car manufacturer with the highest sales volume worldwide, the Japanese brand remains the most popular on Google.
The data collected by the British accessories company Quickco reveal that Toyota was by far the most searched brand, leading searches in up to 74 countries. The Japanese car manufacturer is the most popular in nations such as the United States, Australia, China or Greenland. The vast majority of central Africa has also been conquered by the Japanese brand.
In second place among the most searched brands is BMW with 51 territories to its name. Most of these countries are located in the Old Continent, notably Germany, Belgium, Poland, Austria, Croatia, Ukraine or Norway.

On the other hand, Hyundai and Honda stand out for their popularity in large countries such as Russia or India, in the case of the former, and Canada or Brazil, in the case of the latter. This study carried out by Quickco also reveals curious data, such as Volvo and Fiat being the most searched manufacturers in their countries of origin (Sweden and Italy respectively).
Despite being the largest and most powerful car manufacturer in the world, Volkswagen only topped the searches in countries such as Spain, Romania, Belarus, Estonia, Cape Verde, Andorra and Uruguay.
